105 teachers banned from correcting answer scripts
The Department of Examinations has banned 105 school teachers from marking answer scripts of Grade V scholar-ship examination, alleging that they had marked the August 2008 exam papers carelessly and irresponsibly.
The teachers had been banned not only from correcting Grade V answer scripts but also those of any other examination held by the Department.
A grave injustice had been done to students when marks were added wrongly, as those with low marks would not be able to gain admission to the schools of their choice.
