Note books and their innovative technology are constantly in mobile mode. This time the story from Hewlett Packard HP projects further innovation to be offered to Sri Lankan users, says Philip Lau, General Manager, HP Personal Systems Group, Asia Emerging Countries, Singapore, who was here last week.
He said living room entertainment built into the HP note books and laptops are just that. This means that although it was a workhorse, it also had versatility to fit many user wants and could adapt to entertainment anywhere any time.
He said exposing HP products to the Sri Lankan market was not merely revelation of new products but end-user numbers were increasing and bear relevance to constantly emerging product improvement. Although HP commands market share approximately 21 per cent, internationally research and investment on improvement have not abated but technological originality is now a by-word enervating all their products.
HP produces one server every second. Added to this production force they produce 3 printers and 2 PCs every 10 seconds. This being what it is their marketing strategies have to be geared to such promotion globally that production lines will see no recession or for that matter any interruption.
In light of technology and its capacity to produce at that level of intense concentration of numbers their maintenance of the Sri Lanka market was important, Lau said.
Price range for their products range from Rs. 85,000. to increasing denominations subject to features and specifications.
Market Development Manager HP Personal Systems, Gihan Mendis said simplicity and user friendly technology has made life interesting each day, whenever you boot up an HP note book. Although sensor driven applications have been in use this decade what HP offers, he said, is not merely a run –of- the- mill laptop or note book, but packed with features quite different to other machines.
Optimum reliability and security were main features. However questioned by the press on security of the machine, he conceded such hacker proof inclusions are not totally dependable. "If there was a hacker at work, he could damage your laptop with just one click of your keys", he said.
Launch of their new products included the S-series HP Pro models. What this meant was that apart from others the key board innovative layout provided visually open and spacious key board with keys raised from the surface level.
