It exudes intolerance. Ironically the article by Demos in the same column echoes Kath Noble’s views on the issue.

If we cannot tolerate a different or an opposing view, we should confine ourselves to the ivory towers we have created in our minds for our mighty selves and keep off the market place of views and ideas.
