Hemas Hospital introduces ‘Maathru’

Hemas Hospitals recently made its services even more patient-centric and customer-friendly with the introduction of MAATHRU, Sri Lanka’s first-ever all-inclusive and value-added package for childbirth at its flagship hospital in Wattala.

Director, Medical Services at Hemas Hospitals Dr. Aruna Rabel said, "Maathru encompasses all the core elements that go into a safe, secure and comfortable delivery, be it normal or Caesarean Section. Giving birth at Hemas Hospital in Wattala has been a special and unique experience for almost 100 mothers who have already done so. Our trained, caring and experienced staff will ensure a safe and a secure delivery for both mother and baby at the Hemas Hospital".

With its private father-friendly labour rooms for normal delivery and its five modern theatres for Cesarean deliveries, the Hemas Hospital Wattala exudes a warm family ambiance which extends to its clean and comfortable rooms.

Maathru also includes special ante-natal classes for mothers. This has been identified as a critical area in the field of childcare where new mothers are often unaware of the basics of how to handle their newborns. Classes will be conducted by specialists in the field who will impart their knowledge and long years of experience in child care.

In addition to this, Maathru also offers a range of discounts on all investigations and vaccines for the baby until he or she reaches 10 years of age. This again reinforces the role of the Hemas Hospital as a socially responsible citizen which extends its care and commitment long after an infant has passed its baby years.

The state-of-the-art hospital is fully equipped with an Intensive Care Unit, a Premature Baby Care Unit, a Blood Bank for emergencies, a Vaccination Unit, all other facilities including a 24 hour laboratory, X Ray, CT Scans, MRI Scans and Ultrasound scans.

Chairman of Hemas Hospitals Murtaza Esufally said that the introduction of Maathru was yet again in keeping with the Hospital’s patient-centric ethos. "Not only have we been able to enhance convenience and dependability, but also bring in a totally new and patient-friendly experience at the Hospital. The response we’ve so far got from patients has been very good, and this undoubtedly augurs well for the future. In fact plans are afoot to introduce this facility to the Hemas hospital in Galle in the near future. Maathru would be the first of many more patient centric packages in the pipeline", he added.
