

ChildFund reaches out to vulnerable children
CCF Sri Lanka, in line with the new global strategy by its parent organization, announced a change in its corporate brand name and logo to ChildFund Sri Lanka recently. CCF Inc, which is the parent organization of the NGO will now be known as ChildFund International, USA.
The new name better aligns CCF with ChildFund Alliance, a group of 12 organizations, which includes ChildFund International, USA, in order to further facilitate partnership to improve the lives of children in need and their families in 56 countries. CCF Inc, now known as ChildFund International, USA is the founding member of this alliance of NGOs. Having an unified name increases opportunities for collaborative activities, including expanded programming and fund raising. In addition, it will help open new doors in terms of strategic partnerships so that more children are reached.
The core intent of ChildFund Sri Lanka is to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change to their communities. The NGO also aims to continue to promote societies whose individuals and institutions that participate in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and rights of children. The programmes are operated in a variety of different areas which provide practical assistance to impoverished communities and plant the seeds of self-sufficiency.
ChildFund Sri Lanka’s integrated child development model has been restructured from sectoral programmes to the life cycle approach, enabling the organization’s ability to further improve its impact of the lives of the children it serves. The system focuses on achieving the core outcomes of Healthy and Secure infants, Educated and Confident children and Skilled and Involved youth. One of the organization’s new major focuses is on secondary education, which is youth oriented and aims at improving knowledge, in Science, Math, English and IT at a community level.
