
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has told The Hindu newspaper that he would go for a political solution only after obtaining a popular mandate at the next presidential election.
In an interview with The Hindu Editor N. Ram, President Rajapaksa said there would be no federalism in Sri Lanka. He stressed the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) representatives must take part in discussions on a political solution.
