Vavuniya Police recovered 200 kilograms of C-4 type explosives from the jungles of Avaddiweli in Kiran, Batticaloa on Sunday.
This was just 20 kilograms less than that was used to blast the Central Bank, OIC Anti Terror Unit of Vavuniya, IP Nalaka Gunasekera said.
Along with the stock of explosives, two suicide kits, two bombs, 2250 rounds of ammunition for micro pistols, 150 cartridges for 12 bore guns, 825 rounds of ammunition for S-12 type weapons and 190 rounds of pistol ammunition were also recovered from the same site.
The explosives and weapons have been brought to the Vavuniya Police and a special team is conducting investigations.
