Sri Lanka will feature in two events today at the ongoing Lusofonia Games in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Sri Lankans are expected to field teams for the beach volleyball (two male teams and two female teams) and taekwondo championships.

Sri Lanka has placed its hopes on the beach volleyball events. Sri Lanka did well in the first Lusofonia Games at this event. The men’s team is expected to carry Sri Lanka’s challenge this year having made it to the semi finals of the tournament at the previous edition of the games.

Two members of that Sri Lanka team, Mahesh Perera and Dhammika Silva, are available for national duty this year as well. Dhammika will feature in Sri Lanka’s first team along with Pubudu Ekanayake.
