With reference to the story headlined "Over 100 Thai
companies to invest in Sri Lanka" in "The Traveller" of 22 July 2009 it
was advertently stated the Thai investors have made a firm commitment to
invest in Sri Lanka.
Thai Ambassador in Sri Lanka Thinakorn Kanasuta
yesterday clarified that these potential investors made inquiries about
the investment climate in Sri Lanka but no firm commitment has so far
been made by them.
The 100 potential investors we referred to belonged to
diverse business segments, the Thai Ambassador said..
