Veteran journalist and popular lyricist Premakeerthi de Alwis will be remembered at his 20th Commemoration ceremony to be held at the John De Silva Theatre on July 30th at 6.30 p.m. The ceremony named "Thanitharuwe" is organised by the Premakeerthi Commemorative Committee.
Music will be by Jayantha Ratnayake.
A collection of his popular creations will be sung by leading vocalists at the event.
Veteran artiste Jackson Anthony will deliver the keynote commemorative speech. The organisers offer an open invitation to the public for this event.
A highlight of the event is the launching of the book "Premakeerthi in Retrospect" (Premakeerthi - 20 years of remembrance) a collection of articles on the great artist. The organisers have made arrangements for the book to be given away to Premakeerthi fans free of charge.
