

14 Royalists named in national youth rugby pool
Sri Lanka has picked a 56 member pool to go in for training for the upcoming Youth Asian Rugby Championships, a release issued by the Rugby Interim Committee CEO Lasitha Guneratne states.
A key feature in the rugby pool is the inclusion of 14 members of the champion Royal College team. Milo Schools Rugby Knockout Champions S.Thomas’ College has seven members of their team named in the pool which is expected to go into training for the Asian Rugby Tournament which will be staged in Hong Kong from September 3-13. The pool has been picked by the National Rugby Selection Committee.
This year’s Royal College rugby coach Theo Serafim has been named as coach and will have the services of Nilufer Ibrahim as his assistant. Former Sri Lanka and Police rugby player and present Chairman of the Rugby Tournament Committee Rohan Guneratne has been named as manager. The Rugby Interim Committee is yet to name a schools’ representative for the tour.
