

Exchange of Sri Lanka - India handicraft skills
National Craft Council will conduct a Handicraft skills exchanges programme between Sri Lanka and India, sponsored by Ministry of Rural Industry and Self Employment Promotion, to be held at Battaramulla Janakala Kendraya on August 7 under the patronage of Minister of Rural Industry and self Employment Promotion S. B. Nawinna and Indian High Commissioner, Alok Prasad.
The programme will be held from August 7 to 14, between 10.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. Six highly skilled handicraftsmen from India will take part in creations with six professional handicraftsmen of Sri Lanka using bamboo, cane and lace and in mask making, metal carving, silver carving and batiks production.
In keeping line with this skills exchange program 50 marketing stalls will be installed to promote marketing of their products.
