Further, the prudent steps and efforts taken by the President, in the post conflict era, that we are most certain an era has beckon and with the revival of the economy a new portal for the strengthening of the current business opportunities and tying new bonds both locally and internationally has been unwrapped, "Future Dream" is a steppingstone in un-tapping these great opportunities that lies ahead in making the above a reality.

Three of Life Services has identified few among the many sectors that would create a BOOM to the Sri Lankan Economy as predicted by many top economists and local and foreign business research institutions :

Sri Lanka in the Limelight…

Trade – Sri Lanka, as an active member has consistently been supporting the regional Bilateral and the multilateral trade agreements such as, the Indo Lanka Free Trade Agreement (FTA), South Asian Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA), Sri Lanka Pakistan Free Trade Agreement, The proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with India (CEPA), proposed Asian Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA), The bay of Bengal initiative for Multi-Sectoral technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMST-EC) and currently in the process of negotiating to enhance trade and economic co-operation with Iran and China plus with the Export Development Board (EDB) working closely with The Sri Lankan Standards Institutions (SLSI) in formulating a Sri Lankan standard for organic Agricultural Production, plus the tea sector reaching record levels during the first nine months of 2008 and with a healthy Export Performance growth rate of a 6.5%*, the National Energy Plan designed to develop the wind and bio mass energy resources, Fisheries Sector, Agriculture, Logistic Business, Gems & Jewelry and the new port developments in Sri Lanka etc opens up new domains, to create a niche in the potential markets.

Investment - Sri Lanka has always been an attraction point for investors due to the fact that we are a Regional Trade Hub,an Open Economy, A Strategic Access to the Indian Market, we have Highly Literate and Cost Competitive Labour Force, Several incentives and tax benefits and single widow facilitation offered by the Board of Investments (BOI) and Attractive & Transparent Laws are few among the many reasons plus the record breaking US dollars 889 million (inclusive of the foreign loans obtained by the BOI approved companies) Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reported in year 2008’ comparatively to the year 2007’* due to reinvestment of retained earnings as a strategic choice amidst the global financial crisis shows the confidence in the existing investors in the future economic prospects of the country and the current improvement in the security situations. With a readily built platform and a Gigantic Worldwide market awaits to be penetrated.

Furthermore, Three of Life Services (Private) Limited is intending to partner and shall put its good offices overseas with all important stakeholders, both in Sri Lanka and primarily in the region to promote the country as the most preferred destination for investments to achieve a sustainable target of US$ 3.0 bn in next five (05) years of Foreign Direct Investment.

Telecommunication & Information Technology (TIT)- With the ever increase of the utilization of email, Broad Band Internet, Satellite TV, International Direct Dialing etc.. The telecommunication services have continued to grow with a net earnings of 42%* in 2008’, Further, with the rapid development in the North region of the country and the opening of the telecommunications has yet again created a potential market for the service providers.

Information Technology sector has shown remarkable growth of around 31%* in the year 2008’ with Sri Lanka emerging as a favorite offshore outsourcing destination for specialized services such as: Software Development, Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Out Sourcing (KPO). With the President announcing the current year to be an year of "Information Technology and English" would enable majority of the Sri Lankan’s to be highly computer & English literate which will help us in providing competitive labour costs to our customers opposing to the other markets in the region.

Liberation of North and the Eastern Province from the clutches of the terrorists has given an impetus to the TIT sector for greater penetration and opportunities to enhance the their market share.

Tourism – With the end of the war against terrorism after more than two decades and Sri Lanka now being a "Safe and Environmentally Friendly" place, plus with some of its beautiful beaches in the region, Tea Gardens, Heritage Sites, White Water Rafting, State-of-the Art Hotels, Best Spa treatments in the Region, Wildlife park with exotic animals, Beautiful Botanical gardens, Rare fauna and flora, Adventures Sites all at a very reasonable price are just a handful what this little land of "miracles" could offer it’s guest when opposed to the other holiday destinations. Further, the Tourism Development Authority has taken many measures to promote tourism such as: waiving off the fuel charge and economic service charges etc to demonstrate to the world to relax the travel goal advisory in Sri Lanka.

One of the main missions of the Future Dream is to promote Sri Lanka as the top destination for tourism and to attract 2.5 Mn. of tourists arrivals three (03) years from now. Three of Life Services (private) Limited already developing and designing a plan, in line with the thinking of the President and with the assistance of Business Community to lobby against the Travel Advisories issued by various governments and to project a better credit rating out look for Sri Lanka.
