Senior Superintendent of Police and Media Spokesman Ranjith Gunasekera will be on leave from today (21) prior to retirement.
Gunasekera joined the Police Department as a Sub Inspector in 1972 and was first posted to Mount Lavinia Police Station. An old boy of S. Thomas’ College, Matale he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Rajarata University.
He assumed duties as Police Media Spokesman on May 21, 2008.
Senior DIG Nimal Mediwaka will act as Media Spokesman until a permanent appointment is made, Police, sources said.
