All Executive Presidents and party leaders had connections with the underworld and nobody could deny it.
But the present government was the worst, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (Mahajana Wing) leader Managala Samaraweera said.
He said the ‘License to Kill’ given to Police was basically to get rid of the goons who were privy to government secrets.
Samaraweera said he was against death penalty. His father, the late Mahanama Samaraweera had, he said, campaigned for the abolition of the death penalty in 1956 under Prime Minister S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike.
