Three more suspects were arrested connection with the recent killing of two youth in Angulana, while allegedly in Police custody. They were produced yesterday before Mt. Lavinia Chief Magistrate Harsha Setunge, who ordered they be held under a Detention Order for a period of 48 hours.

The suspects are Nissanka Dissanayake, Dhammika and Janapriya. ASP Shani Abeysekera of the CID produced the suspects. Earlier four Police personnel and the OIC of the Angulana Police Station, Newton Fernando were arrested and remanded.

The killing of the youths sparked public outrage resulting in damage to Angulana Police post and also drew the attention of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who said that perpetrators irrespective of their rank or status quo will be brought to book.
