At the Colombo Tea Auction of 19th August 2009, Uva Highlands Estate in the Bandarawela District and managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC established an all time record price of Rs. 2,650/- per kg of a BOP Grade.

This surpassed the record price of Rs. 2,010/- for the same grade established by Uva Highlands Estate at the Colombo Tea Auctions last week. This line was purchased by M/s Enura Trading Company Ltd. and was sold by M/s Eastern Brokers Ltd.
