President’s rule will last two decades – Bandula

KANDY - President Mahinda Rajapakse will continue as the head of State for twenty years, said Trade Consumer Affairs and Cooperative Minister Bandula Gunawardana addressing a meeting at Menikhinna in Kundasale on Saturday 22.

There was no one who could prevent President Rajapaksa from ruling the country for two decades. The Opposition could not pose any challenge to him because it was now like a dog without a tail, the Minister said.

Minister Gunawardena was addressing a meeting to welcome Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Minister Keheliya Rambukwella as the new SLFP Chief Organiser of the Kundasale electorate.

Mahinda Rajapaksa was the only leader who could defeat terrorism and restore peace for all in the country, he said.

Chief Minister Central Sarath Ekanayake Chairman Central PC, Saliya Bandara Dissanayake, MP Nimal Premawansa, Central PC members Mahinda Abeykoon and Sunis Amaratunge were among the speakers.
