The Northern Region has taken the time light and most organizations are putting there resources behind in making there presence felt in the North. Union Assurance entered the Northern market way back in 2002 and was the 1st private sector insurer to open operation in Jaffna and this move was duly recognized to be a wise investment when the Jaffna branch office was bestowed with the best regional office award at the Union Assurance Annual Awards 2005.

The Jaffna branch currently housed over 70 staff members recording a significant momentum in both life and general insurance operations. Mr. Rukman Weerarathne General Manager Marketing & Distribution feels that the Point Pedro Branch is also expected to do the same.
