Malaysian National Day was celebrated at the Cinnamon Grand on a grand scale with many diplomats, politicians, members of corporate world and other distinguished invitees being among the present.
The Malaysian High Commissioner Rosli Ismail and his effervescent First Secretary Mohamed Ezuvan contributed immensely to mark the 52nd Anniversary of Malaysian Independence Day a memorable one.
In his speech, the Malaysian High Commissioner stressed the long diplomatic ties and the co-operation between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Minister of Education Susil Premajayanth.
UNP assistant General Secretary and Gampaha District Parliamentarian Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena, Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralidarn, High Commissioner for Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, The Ambassador of Iran in Sri Lanka Mahmoud Rahimi Corji, Riyaz S.A.L Khenene from the Saudi Emassy, Charge de Affairs Iraqi Embassy Captain Nike Nithi, President Asian Aviation Safety Agency to mention a few were present at the cocktails.
