Don Bosco SC beat defending champions Army SC by 2 goals to 1 in the opening match of the Dialog Champions League 2009 at Don Bosco Stadium, Negombo, yesterday.
At half time, two teams had scored 1 goal each.
In the next match, Ratnam SC drew with Renown SC with a score of 1 all at City Football Complex, Colombo 2. Before lemons, both teams were unable to net a goal. M. Fuard of Ratnam was red carded at the 47th minute of the game.
In the last match of the day, New Youngs, Wennappuwa, beat Negombo Youth 1-0 at Maris Stella grounds. At half time, the score read 0-0.
60 matches will be played for this year’s C’ship while the matches will last till the mid of November. 12 teams will vie for the C’ship while the matches of Dialog Champions League will commence every weekend.
The Dialog Champions League is conducted by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka and sponsored by Dialog Telecom.
