Tebuwana, the most attractive village in the Kalutara electorate, situated closer to the Kaluganga, should be developed as a tourist village to increase the income of the village folk. A memorandum has been sent by the residents of Tebuwana to Minister of Tourism, Nandana Goonetillake.
During the British administration, the European planters, had a well maintained golf course but now it is neglected. The Tudugala water-fall is also a very attractive spot and a large number of local tourists visit it daily. This should be developed further to attract the foreign tourists by improving the infrastructural facilities in the area.
In a memorandum submitted to the Minister of Tourism the residents of Tebuwana reiterate the historical importance of the locality and the gains that the local population as well as the country as a whole would gain if the area is developed as a tourist zone.
Tebuwana has been neglected and no development has taken place for several years. It is located in an ideal place where the river Kaluganga runs parallel to the town.
