The Government has requested relatives and persons who are willing to take custody of families or individual IDPs staying in relief villages and welfare centers in Vavuniya to submit their applications, said secretary to the Ministry of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services U. L. M. Halaldeen

He said that the applications should be made through their respective Grama Seva Niladhari of the area they reside and forwarded to the respective District Secretary through the Divisional Secretariat. Specimen forms had appeared in the newspapers.

Persons who are willing to take custody of those staying under the protective custody of the Government has to prove that he/she is willing to undertake the responsibility of providing food, shelter and other needs of the IDPs they are willing to sponsor.
