We draw attention to a report published in your newspaper dated 01.09.2009, in the Letters to the Editor page titled "Term Tests; An ill-conceived scheme" written by A Teacher, Boralesgamuwa.

As the facts in this said letter are misleading, we will be grateful if you publish the following clarification in your newspaper.

The so called Terms Tests was not a decision taken by the minister of Education Susil Premajayantha.

The recommendation was made by the National Education Commission. The Committee with the consultation of Provincial Educational Authorities took this decision. The O/L examination papers will be set by the respective provincial councils.
