

In a keenly contested game, Manaram Bandara (27) steered All Greens BC to a 98-87 victory over Vazians-Wennappuwa in a "B" division match of the ongoing inaugural Carlton Cup Open Inter Club Basketball Tournament at Police park grounds, last Wednesday.
At ‘lemons’ the winners were ahead 56-39.
Dilshan Malith (27) and Gayan Randika (19) were the best scorers for the losing side while Yohan Danushka chipped in with 19 points for the winners.
The tournament which began on September 11 will continue till the 1st week of October in which international teams and leading clubs from the island will participate. The highlight of the championships is that it has provided opportunities for both "A" division and "B" division clubs to participate. The tournament also marks the first occasion where an International Basketball event will be held in Sri Lanka after almost half a century. Ten Teams will battle for the "A" division Championship while 16 teams will battle for the "B" division championship.
The tournament is organized and conducted by Carlton Sports Club.
