

Ranjanee leaves for Bangkok In’l Film Festival
Ranjanee Ratnavibhushana, Board Member of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) and the General Secretary of the Asian Film Centre, Sri Lanka, has left for Thailand to participate in the 6th. Bangkok International Film Festival 2009 scheduled to be held from September 24 to 30.
She will be the Chairperson of the Netpac Jury at Bangkok International Film Festival.
Ranjanee is the Associate Editor of Cinesith (quarterly film journal), Editor of the Sri Lankan Film Annual, Author of The Cinema of Adoor Gopalpkrishnan and Publisher of the book LJP - Lester James Peries Life and Work. She has participated in several FIPRESCI, FICC and NETPAC juries such as Locamo, Vesoul, Pusan, Brisbane, Bangladesh, Bangkok and Kerala etc.
She is a banker by profession and presently attached to the People’s Bank Credit Card Centre as the Chief Manager.
The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) is a worldwide organization of 29 member countries. It was created as the result of a conference on Asian cinema organized by Cinemaya, the Asian Film Quarterly, in New Delhi in 1990 at the instance and with the support of UNESCO, Paris.
