Swedish move to disgrace Lanka countered at HRC

The government yesterday strongly denied US allegations that rape had been used as a weapon in Sri Lanka’s successful war against the LTTE. Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara told The Island that nothing could be far from the truth. He emphasized that there was absolutely no basis whatsoever even to suggest Sri Lankan forces had raped anyone during the three-year campaign.
