Another dinner dance, with a fashion show was organised by the SonVit Charities Trust at the Holiday Inn with Sohan and the Experiments playing which kept the dance floor packed with dances who didn’t need partners.

Also for added entertainment was some Sri Lankan dance items performed by the Chandana Wickremasinghe Troupe.

The fashion show was worked on the day of a fashion conscious woman and man, and began with night wear as they stepped out for their abolutions in the morning followed by a day at work with a hotch potch of styles, one of which was a black dress more suitable for cocktails. In the evening dress styles was an elegant dress in a rust brown draped from one shoulder.

Among the women dancers though there was many a trend that caught the eye. There were attractive sarees, and long evening gowns with the chief organiser Sonia Vitarana who had her turquoise saree bordered and scattered with motifs in cerise and gold.

The saree Jeevarani Wijesena wore was in a combination of elephant grey and a shade of light blue sprays of a floral design in a purple outlines in silver lurex. The bare shouldred red dress Natasha wore was bare shouldred and featured a short train. With her was Sharmini Jayawardene in a turquoise dress which had a cowl at the neckline, she wore with a strand of pearls. Back home is Nellie Fernando who had on a purple dress over which she wore a sleeveless coat of tissue in pale blue and purple in a cubistic design.
