The European Union has not yet decided whether to renew the GSP Plus for Sri Lanka or not and a final decision is likely to be taken by early January, 2010.
EU Head of Delegation to Sri Lanka, Bernard Savage was quoted by Lanka Business Online (LBO) as having said the EU Investigation Report had been submitted to the government and the EU Brussels Office on Monday and a final decision on the GSP Plus would be made two months from November 6, according to EU procedure.
Savage has told the LBO the EU investigation report will be reviewed by the EU until November 6, 2009, and recommendations made after the review is over.
