International quality award puts SL on stationery and printing map

Sri Lankan stationery manufacturer and exporter, Richard Trading Company, won the International Gold Star Award for Quality beating 173 countries in the category of stationery, printing and printing related items for exports.

The award was presented by an international organisation called Business Initiative Directions, focused on developing and promoting quality standards world-wide.

"This award is priceless to the company because it endorses the high quality standards of our products. It is a passport to the world," Richard Trading Company’s Managing Director, Richard Jayatissa told s

"This award also matters to Sri Lanka because it has now put the country’s capabilities in high quality printing and manufacturing stationary on the map. I have been a committee member of the Sri Lanka Printing Association and I know how much work has been done to gain international recognition and this award would give Sri Lanka the mileage it needs," Jayatissa said.

Richard Trading Company manufactures a wide range of exercise books and pastels for both the local and export markets.

The company’s products are exported to 18 countries in Europe and South America.
