All political parties talk of the abolition of the Executive Presidential system, but once in power, they continue with it. The reason for that appears to be:

* The fear of losing the hold on the political party or the constituent political parties or ‘Sandhanayas’.

* The reluctance to give up the power and privileges that the post carries and the urge to enjoy them as long as possible.

* The advantage of holding political parties together due to the power behind the Executive Presidency.

* The desire to use the powers found in the Executive Presidential system to win future elections.
