The
12th Dudley Senanayake Memorial Oration was held at The Hotel
Continental, Colombo on the 16th October, 2009. The Guest Speaker was DR
Anwar Ibrahim, the Leader of the Opposition in Malaysia. The subject was
‘’The role of the Opposition in a Liberal Democracy’. The event was
sponsored by The Friedrich Naumann Stiftung. The vote of theanks was
made by the grandnephew of the late Dudley Senanayake, Ruwan Wijewardene.
Later on, The Resident Representative of the Stiftung hosted a dinner at
Cinnamon Lakeside
where the Sri Lankan Leader
of the Opposition, Ranil Wickremesinghe and other distinguished guests
were present. The pictures are from both events.
