Eight women and three men arrested by the Dehiwala police for allegedly operating a brothel in the guise of a massage parlour were produced before Mt. Lavinia Chief Magistrate Harsha Setunge, who remanded them till November 5.

The suspects were ordered to undergo a medical examination.

Police sent a decoy to the massage parlour before the raid.

Two persons a Hindu priest and an army civilian employee who were among those arrested, were later released.

Ratna Gamage, the counsel appearing for them submitted that they visited the massage parlour for therapy for their body ailments.
