Ex Ceylinco Shriram Depositors' Assn.chief complains of assault

A former president of the Ceylinco Shriram Depositors' Association has complained to the police that he was assaulted when he went to a nearby boutique on October 27, on attending court when the 7 billion rupee Ceylinco Shriram criminal misappropriation case came up for hearing again.

In his complaint to Slave Island police, Lionel Liyanage has alleged that a former member of the Association, who has now formed a breakway faction, was responsible for the attack.

He was injured in his left eye when a stick was thrown at him by the assailant, he has told the police.
