

FCCISL hosts Bulgarian Trade Delegation
A high level fifteen member trade delegation from Bulgaria, accompanied by President of Bulgeria Georgi Paranov was in Sri Lanka from October 30 – Nov. 01, 2009.
Objectives of the visit was to enhance and strengthen bilateral economic ties of the two countries, encourage, promote and facilitate effective cooperation with regard to trade, economic and industrial activities between Bulgaria and Sri Lanka.
The visiting Bulgarian Trade Delegation led by Traicho Traikov the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria encountered a business interaction with Sri Lankan business community.
On a request made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation was hosted by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL). This was yet another significant step taken by FCCISL to open new vistas for cooperation between Sri Lanka and other trading countries, both in private and public sectors.
During the visit a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between FCCISL and Bulgarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to serve the mutual interest of both countries at Hotel Taj Samudra on November 1, 2009 at 9.30am.
The MOU mostly focuses on exchanging information regarding laws and regulations related to economic activities, business opportunities, publications and other information that will enhance and strengthen bilateral economic ties between the two nations.
