Avurvedic docs to share
experience with their Northern counterparts
An ayurvedic exhibition will be held at Kaithadi, Jaffna to promote ayurvedic treatment and share experiences with physicians based in the Jaffna peninsula.
Chief of the Ayurvedic Department, Ramani Gunawardhane yesterday told The Island that the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine and the Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital in Jaffna would be involved in the project.
The Exhibition, now scheduled for next month, will be the first in the province. She said this programme would help create an awareness of Ayurvedic and Siddhayurvedic medicine among people living in the Northern Province. "Siddhayurveda is more popular in the North and East due to the South Indian influence," she said. There would be several awareness programmes for Ayurvedic doctors, students and the community, she added.
