The 3rd Annual Open Pairs Bridge Tournament, sponsored by Lihiniya Surf Hotel, Bentota was held at the hotel premises on the 24th and 25th October 2009.

Thirty participants took part in the two day event which was organized by the Vice Patron of the Bridge Federation of Sri Lanka, Gerry Hidelaratchi and the management of Lihinya Surf Hotel. The tournament was directed by T. Shanmugalingam, Director of the Bridge Federation of Sri lanka.

Lalith Gamlath and Lasel Perera were the winners on both days while Fritz Perera and Salgado were the runners-up on the first day and Anthiya de Alwis and Mallika Wijekoon became the runners-up on the second day. The Overall Best Unseeded Pair was judged to be Tony Anghie and Gerry Hidelaratchi.

Roshan Adihetty and the team at the Lihiniya Surf Hotel did an excellent job in organizing the event and ensuring the participants had a memorable time at the event.
