Health Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva yesterday accused elements with close connections with the JVP of introducing glass pieces in to the phials containing fluid used for vaccines in the government hospitals.

The Minister said there is a conspiracy launched by a Marxist party to bring his Ministry to disrepute.

He said the "JVP would try everything under its belt to make me leave my portfolio but I will not yield to their dirty tactics."

"This frustrated political party has misled certain sections of the media to launch a mud slinging campaign against me and my Ministry using the fabricated story of the vaccines" he said.

When contacted JVP parliamentarian Wijitha Herath said, today the government is suffering from a conspiracy phobia and where it is being troubled by the unemployed graduates phobia, protests by the government servants for pay hikes, rubella vaccine phobia, international conspiracies, examination paper conspiracy etc.
