UNP MP Edward Gunasekera yesterday complained in Parliament that the Government had not allocated decentralised budget monies for MPs through the vote-on-account.

This will result in MPs having to wait till next April without doing any development projects.

Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara said that MP should have raised this during the debate on the vote-on-account, and queried why the issue was not brought up yesterday after the vote-on-account had been passed in the House.

Leader of the House, Healthcare Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that the question raised by the Opposition MP was relevant but asked him not to worry because a new Parliament which comes into power next April would allocate funds to MPs through its decentralised budget.
