The death of a woman, after delivering a baby through caesarean section, at the Matara Hospital, was caused by pneumonia after she had contacted swine flu, Director of the Hospital Dr. Ms Saminthi Samarakoon said.

The new born baby too died.

The deceased mother has been identified as Asoka Dissanayake (39) of Pitabeddera.
