Fun filled Bollywood night

Every quarter or so the Aitken Spence Sports Club organises a theme night specially for the staff of the group of companies. Working on a theme on each occasion this time around it was Bollywood Night ‘09 and the dress code called for Bollywood attire. Present were several stars from the small and big screen among whom were Sanath Goonetileke in a black striped kurta complete with shawl. Ranjan Ramanayake wore a red shirt as did Suraj Mapa who combined it with a black waist-coat and black pants. Glamour came from Nirosha Perera in a black and silver salwar kameez and from Anusha Damayanthi in a melon pink saree worked in sequins she wore with a dazzling high necked blouse elaborately worked in silver.

All those who joined in on the frolic had themselves a whale of a time with the dancing space packed to capacity. Three of the staff took to the ramp and modelled three sarees. Besides this were a look alike Michael Jackson in a performance of Jackson songs. The star of the evening though was young Harish Hirdramani who is a dancer of excellence, agile and energetic.

To take good care of the media was the PR of Singapore Airlines Shihana Cader in a red kurta embroidered in the same colour, she wore over a black dress. Also making a short speech and ensuring the success of the evening was second time President of the Sports Club, Niranjan Rodrigo.

The event took place at the Diamond Room on the sixth floor of Tower 11 in the Aitken Spence building, which was the ideal location for such a happy go lucky event.
