Fashion Expression was a dual event at which Lanka Woman held their first ever Designer of the Year contest, which in the second half showcased the work of eight seniors in the field who were honoured for their contribution to the fashion industry of Sri Lanka.

The event was staged in the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel, and the only male designer among the eleven finalists won the title. The Judges for the competition was formed of a formidable board and had Ramani Fernando, Nayana Karunaratne, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Mignonne Fernando, Senaka de Silva and Kirthi Sri Karunaratne to arbitrate.

The eight designers who produced mini shows brought on the ramp a wide range of outfits focusing on their own individuality and style.
