

Java Lane SC beat Kalutara Park SC 3-1 to clinch the CEAT Premier League Division I trophy on Friday at the City Football Complex, Slave Island.
Playing at their home ground, Java Lane SC enjoyed a huge support base. Annesley Gnanasegaran drew first blood for the Slave Islanders, with a goal in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute, Maxie Leighton found the net to add to the Java Lane scoreline.
At half time, Java Lane were leading 2-0.
But Kalutara Park struck in the third minute of the second half, through the boot of Malinga Silva.
In the 63rd minute, M. Razeek scored Java Lane’s third goal, to put the issue beyond doubt.
Asiri Lamahewa of Java Lane won the award for the Most Valuable Player of the Day. Java Lane SC carried away the CEAT Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 300,000, while Kalutara Park SC walked away with the CEAT runner-up trophy and Rs. 200,000.
The chief guest at the final was Randeep Narang, Managing Director/CEO, CEAT Kelani Associated Holdings (Pvt) Limited while Ravi Dadlani, General Manager Sales and Marketing, CEAT Kelani Associated Holdings was the guest of honour.
