To appreciate the untiring services rendered by dedicated government school teachers in the North Western Province, the Provincial Education Department has organised a felicitation programme for teachers and principals who had laboured to get their students to achieve good results at public examinations in 2008.

Results of the Grade V Scholarship exam, the GCE (O/L) and GCE (A/L) exams were taken into consideration in this connection.

More than 2,000 school teachers and 140 principals will be awarded with special souvenirs and gifts. The respective schools too will receive books for their libraries.

The NWP-Education Department has already sent a circular to all school heads in the NWP in this regard.

The Provincial Council has allocated 2.5 million rupees for this purpose. The aim of this project is to induce school teachers and principals to perform their services to give the student population quality education.

These felicitation programmes will be organised at zonal level and NWP councillors will take part with educationists and religious dignitaries.
