The Probation and Childcare Services office in Galle, has been directed to conduct further inquiries into a case where a lawyer is alleged to have raped two under aged girls at his bungalow on a tea estate in Galle.

On an order from the Southern Provincial Council Minister of Social Services U. G. D. Ariyapala, the Secretary to the Ministry, while directing the PCS office to inquire into the case, had also ordered that it inquire into the welfare of other young girls on the estate belonging to the suspect and submit a comprehensive report to him on their family, ation and present status.
