

In a Women’s A division match Hatton National Bank was able to turn tables on Seylan Bank after conceding 11 points lead at the half time in the on-going Delmege Super League Basketball tournament at Otter’s Aquatic Basketball courts, on Tuesday.
At half time Seylan Bank led 36 to 25 but HNB bounced back in the second half to post 69 -62 victory over Seylan Bank players. Kumarine Silva top scored for HNB with 21 points while Pramila Fernando was the top scorer for Seylan Bank with 21 points.
Meanwhile in a B division match of men’s category, HNB posted a 80-60 victory over Sri Lankan Air Lines. At half time they led by mere two points (38-36)and went on to finish the game. Rasanga Ruwanga top scored with 23 points for them while Sanjaya Wanasekara top scored for losing team with 29 points.
Thirty seven teams from the Mercantile sector are competing in the tournament and are pooled into six divisions. Matches are being worked off daily at the Otter’s Aquatic Club courts from 6.00 pm onwards.
