

The junior cricketers of Rajasinghe MV, Hanwella came up with a rare feat skittling out Mayadunne Vidyalaya for an embarrassing four runs, according to school sources, which was confirmed by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association, yesterday.
The SLSCA confirmed that Rajasinghe MV had restricted Mayadunne Vidyalaya to a mere four runs in the second innings in their Inter School Under-13 Division III tournament match to record an outright victory.
Kasun Heshan, a 12-year-old picked up eight wickets in a 12 over spell to help his school produce this extraordinary performance. Heshan’s eight wickets cost just two runs in a spell which included eight maidens. Heshan had a match bag of 13 wickets as Rajasinghe MV cruised to an innings and 31 run win.
Incidentally, Mayadunne Vidyalaya had toiled for 23.3 overs to score their four runs in the second innings.
Rajasinghe MV, who played in Division II earlier, was demoted to Division III when they failed to field a team in the Division II tournament for two consecutive years.

Chamod Gamage picked up five wickets, including a hat-trick for St. Peter’s College, Udugampola to record an outright victory over Nimala Mariya MV, Bolawalana, in an Inter School Under-13 Division III tournament match played last week.
