SL Air Force have fared well at the ongoing Defence Services Games.

They have emerged champions in hockey,tennis,waterpolo(Women),netball, Badminton(Men)weightlifting,shooting(women)Volleyball (Men/women) and Karate (Women). This is the first time in history that a Defence Service team has won both men and women titles at Volleyball. They beat National Champions SL Army to clinch the title this year.

Group captain Harsha Fernando has been appointed as the officer in charge of sports in SL Air Force and their soccer team has qualified to play in the grand final of the Dialog Champions League soccer tournament which will be worked off next Sunday at City Football Complex.

Another event that they have dominated is body building. The 55th Body Building Championships were held at Trinity College Kandy on November 14 and they won eight gold medals out of nine events. Suneth Wijesundara of SL Air Force was adjudged the best body builder at the Championships .SL Air Force have build up a squad of 20 body builders. In the media conference held recently, Group Captain Harsha Fernando told that their aim is to create more National players and to protect them throughout their career
