Serial winners vs serial losers
Our good lawyer friend S.L Gunasekera has coined a new name for Ranil as ‘serial loser’.   He has forgotten the conditions under which RW became a serial loser.  When elections are held, generally the ruling party has all the necessary tools in their hands,  the police, and thugs are at their beck and call.  Large amounts of money is also at their disposal.  Private business people fearing loss of favourable treatment, hands out cash. Govt officials and vehicles and other property such as faxes, telephones are also with the rulers.  All the possible resources in the govt. are mis-used for the elections. This happened during JR’s time also and the opposition became serial losers.

If the country’s democratic tools - the independent commissions which the Govt should  establish in terms of the constitution - are established, and elections are held after that, then you can see what the serial loser can do. So Mr Gunasekera, don’t throw stones from your glass cubicle or write one sided articles hiding the unsavoury facts. Remember UNP the block vote has not gone 6 feet underground. They are frothing mad, and are live embers under the ash.
