Kalmunai High Court Judge Chandramathi Visvalingan, sentenced to death in absentia Mohamed Ismail Nizardeen of Akkaraipattu for strangling to death his wife Abdul Hameed Saidum on 23rd June 2002.

The judge also issued an open warrant on him and its copy was sent to the Controller Immigration and Emigrations OIC Crimes, Bandaranaike International Airport.
